Before The Funeral

At Darren W. Faragher, one of the longest serving funeral directors Birmingham and Sutton Coldfield has to offer, we understand that many people have questions to ask regarding funerals. What happens before the funeral is one of the most common. We are always happy to provide some answers and useful information to help clients be at peace.

We will require the details of the deceased, such as their Full Name and Address, Age, Date and Place of Death, Religion and Doctors Name. We will need to know if the death has been registered and whether you require burial or cremation.

If burial is selected, which cemetery do you require and is there an existing grave?

If cremation, which crematorium and what are the instructions regarding ashes?

We will also require additional information regarding the type of service, the Clergy, where you wish to meet, Vehicles, Newspaper Announcements, Floral Tributes, Catering and Hymns, and many other details. Help and guidance on all these subjects will be offered by our staff so you don’t need to feel overwhelmed by the number of things you need to decide on.

One of the biggest decisions you need to make is the choice of coffin. Fortunately we offer a wide variety of quality coffins and caskets in various styles and timbers. We will be pleased to discuss the range available, helping you to select the right one.

Throughout the planning, our team will work hard to keep everything organised and to reduce the stress and strain on the family of the deceased. We make sure we are always available to provide support and to answer any other questions that may arise. Whenever something comes up, day or night, we will be here to help.
